| Music Festival and the Four Penny Computer Susan, Database Programer & Software Developer, Arizona Submitted from ASD Conference, July 2000
There are several of us preparing a music festival that I'm to play in but
the rehearsals have not yet begun for me. I am running around trying to get
my things together to go away for a few days before the festival starts.
I walk into a room with no furniture and a floor that is sloping upward to a
door like a fun house. The room seems to be under construction as there is
bare dry wall. Somewhere close to me are some people in a dance rehearsal.
I go through the door, perhaps the one at the top of the slope.
I'm now outside and looking for a way to get into the building where I was
staying. There is no one else around yet I have this feeling that I'm doing
something I might not supposed to be doing.
I walk in a large double door at the base of the building and am now in a
large empty entryway room room. I'm looking at my computer which I'd really
like to take with me for the next couple days. I've flipped up the keyboard
and am looking at the processor and see that the designers have used four
brand new shinny pennies, there is some mechanical motion to them. A man
walks up to me on my right and says that he'd really like to test this
devise out with one of his tools like a tricorder. I don't seem very
willing to let him do that, I feel protective over my brand new computer.
Susan's Interpretation
I felt this dream offered many good metaphors for what I've been going
through in my life at this time. I had several sudden changes in the
fundamental aspects of my life i.e. car, home, health, perception of self.
The preparation has some challenges, physical and perceptual symbolized by
the fun house however I do overcome them easily evidenced by my walking
through the door.
I see the feeling of "should I be here" as my preoccupation with being
self-conscious and insecure when there is no real concern. I live there and
it is my computer.
The computer section is probably the most meaningful to me as I have been
having some distinct but subtle psychic openings that have had side affects
in my life.
In addition the four pennies seemed to be clue to helping deal with an
actual computer problem I wasn't aware yet. I place four shinny pennies on
my actual laptop computer just under the monitor. Lo and behold that the
fan on my computer goes on less often which may be because the copper
pennies wick the heat away from the processor. That's my guess anyway...
